Your Role: Senior Management Consultant

The Senior Management Consultant (SMC) works as part of a project team on large-scale implementations, serving as project lead responsible for data collection, rapid current-state assessment, value creation, and driving high-ROI results on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include:

  • Apply analytical skills and operational excellence methods to drive continuous improvement on the shop floor, in the warehouse, and across back-office functions.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to client leadership — translating data and observations into compelling recommendations that move clients to action, including delivering difficult findings with respect, confidence and candor.
  • Facilitate on-site workshops, individual and group coaching, and change management initiatives; hold client teams accountable for agreed actions and measurable results.
  • Leverage lean transformation experience to lead hands-on change within client organizations, driving urgency and sustainable improvement.
  • Rapidly build competency across industries and sectors; translate client problems into clear, executable implementation plans.

What you bring to TBM:

TBM seeks progressive leaders with at least 15 years of manufacturing and/or supply chain operations experience who are driven to apply their process improvement knowledge to help client team’s address complex challenges and drive results across diverse companies and geographies in a consulting capacity.

Technical Skills

  • Strong lean transformation background — deep grounding in Toyota Production System, Danaher Business System, or equivalent, with documented results driving measurable performance improvement.
  • Combined operations and supply chain leadership — progressive plant or operations management, direct line responsibility, and ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Planning, scheduling, and S&OP knowledge — production planning, capacity planning, and application across manufacturing environments.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency — complex models, pivot tables, and data analysis; ability to structure ambiguous data sets and extract actionable insights quickly.
  • Financial acumen — ability to connect operational improvements to P&L impact, cost structures, and ROI.
  • ERP systems awareness and AI fluency — understanding of how systems interface with operations, and a genuine willingness to adopt emerging technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA advantageous.

  • Critical thinker who deals effectively with ambiguity — identifies root causes and formulates clear-headed recommendations under pressure.
  • Results-oriented — holds self and client teams accountable for completing commitments on time and with measurable impact.

Life at TBM

  • Live anywhere in the US (within reasonable proximity to a major airport to make weekly client travel sustainable and practical) no requirement to work from a TBM office when not at client sites.
  • Travel expectations — a typical engagement week begins with arrival at the client site by midday Monday and departure on Friday around noon. Changes to schedule will require customer approval.
