Your Role: Managing Director, Business Development

TBM seeks a strategic and results-oriented Business Development expert to drive growth within our management consulting practice. Your role is responsible for identifying new business leads and opportunities and developing tailored proposals that align with client needs and our consulting capabilities. As the Managing Director of Business Development, you will work independently and as part of a team throughout the sales lifecycle process.

A small snapshot of your role includes:

  • Develop and maintain a strong lead pipeline with new potential clients that align with the solutions TBM can provide.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform business development strategies.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build brand awareness and generate leads/opportunities.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals that support revenue and profitability goals.
  • Track and report on pipeline activity, sales metrics, and business development KPI’s.
  • Rapidly develop your competencies in the capabilities of the firm and team that can provide value to clients.
  • Leverage past experiences to facilitate a collaborative, hands-on approach to understanding change needed within the client’s organization.

What you bring to TBM:

TBM looks for talented and progressive leaders with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in management consulting, manufacturing, or other relevant industries who have the desire and capacity to expand their industry and process knowledge.

  • Experience in identifying market opportunities and developing action plans and timelines.
  • Educational credentials that include a bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong written and verbal communication for creating presentations, marketing collateral, and proposal responses.
  • Experience managing significant proposal efforts and coordinating with marketing teams.
  • Proven and progressive success identifying and closing complex deals ranging from $200k – $2M.
  • Personal characteristics include flexibility, self-driven, creativity, and an entrepreneurial spirit with strong financial acumen. Ability to influence and lead others through decisions. These are all components of a successful TBM’er and part of our DNA.
  • History with CRM tools like Salesforce, HubSpot, or QuickBase for tracking contacts and engagements.
  • Ability to identify and engage with key influencers, decision-makers, and potential partners.
  • Willingness to travel when needed within the US.
